Boynton Beach Art Calendar created quilt
Featuring artist Brandon Drucker.
Brandon Drucker is an American born self-taught artist. Brandon was diagnosed with severe autism at three years old. As a young nonverbal child, he used art to describe his daily life. He always carried a box of colored pencils everywhere he went. His verbal and communication skills slowly evolved throughout the years. The slow progress of his communication and written skills can be appreciated as he writes about his personal struggles and relationships in his self-published book, Diary of An Autistic Kid as well as his other graphic novels.
Brandons' unique Naif art is a favorite among collectors who enjoy his Outsider-art style. His art and life have been featured in books, calendars, Autism Channel, magazine documentaries and a music video composition.
His signature series, the "Combo Cities” began as a means of comparing the similarities and differences of various cities and places of interest around the world. He enjoys discovering new worlds and languages via web search and incorporates what he has discovered in his artwork. As a prolific artist, his enthusiasm also flows over into his desire to learn and invent new languages.
Brandon's artworks are a creative outlet for discovering the real and imaginary that often control his thoughts with no linear connection.
"Do your own thing, be inspired, and make it interesting"- Brandon
